Private to Self
Another owl was sent back. James doesn't even know that I write Petunia almost daily and get them back. Why doesn't she just answer? I know Vernon doesn't like me or those like me, but he works during the day and I make sure that that is when she receives them. I don't understand why she has to be so incredibly stubborn and hateful; I've never done anything to her, we've never actually had a huge blowout except over me being friends with Severus. But that's in the past anyway, she knows about what happened fifth year and since then, so I don't see why she has to keep this up. Mum is sick and after something can happen to her - we'll be the only two left in the family.

Private to James - Sirius, Remus, and Peter can read

James, I'm assuming you're at Sirius' at the moment, so I didn't want to bother with a floo call since I know you check this thing almost religiously. I'm going to visit mum for a few hours and then I'm supposed to be going out with Marlene McKinnon tonight. There is some sandwich stuff for you (and any guests there might be) in the refrigerator in case I don't make it home in time to make you some dinner.

It's been awhile since I've gone off with a friend or acquaintance like tonight without having the husband in tow. It should be fun.

Where are you going?

Oh, I guess I'll just go out and stay as late as I want tonight, then.

You mean where am I going with Marlene? I'm not really sure where we're going yet, but it's just out for a drink and maybe a bite to eat. I doubt we'll be gone all that long.

Hopefully not all night though, that would ruin your plans to keep waking me up as early as you can.

What's wrong with you; why are you upset?

I'm not. Have fun.

And thank you for telling McKinnon stuff about me.

You're lying, but whatever, James, I'm not about to let you ruin my evening out. As for the things I said to Marlene, I was merely teasing. There's no reason for you to get upset or bent out of shape over them.

Good. I already said have fun. It's not like I give a crap anyway.

Just don't expect anything from me.

Well some friends are just so much prettier than your husband!

I think that's a matter of opinion and I'd hate to say otherwise where he could read anyway. He's much too sensitive for that, I'm afraid.

Oh, definitely not, but his sensitivity is one of the things I love most about him.

It could certainly be an interesting trait to be enamored with.

Oh, Merlin, I can't even think of the last time I did that.

Then perhaps you should get out more. We should go one one evening, if you'd like, and have a bit of fun. Goodness knows you deserve it.

That's a tempting offer, Lily- I may just have to take you up on that.

I hope you have a wonderful evening! Sometimes a fun night out with friends makes you appreciate the husband more. Or so I've been told. Then again when you come home to a messy house, it reminds you why you've gone out with said friends in the first place.

Nonetheless, enjoy yourself!

Let's hope that it'll be the former rather than the latter and my house is still in the same order that I left it!

Thank you for the well wishes. I saw you writing to Kayley and must repeat what I said to her: you should come out with us one evening and enjoy yourself. You certainly deserve it too.

That sounds like fun. I would love to, if you wouldn't mind my tagging along sometime.
